Project Manager (Application)

This is a Full-time position in Toronto, ON posted November 30, 2018.

Reporting to the VP of our Financial Practice, you will provide project management services to our clients, as a part of a project team working at a client site. Your role will include potentially working with both the client and/or Alithya team members. As a consulting firm, Alithya undertakes a wide variety of technically challenging and interesting projects, and so your exact responsibilities will vary depending on the project to which you are assigned. Our clients are typically from Capital Markets (FX, FI or Derivatives) or Treasury, and each project is typically 6 months to 2 years in duration. In between project assignments, you will work in our Toronto office, assisting with managing internal new products and solutions.

To succeed in this role, you need a deep and thorough understanding of Capital Markets and a sound technology background. Excellent communication skills are required, and you must be able to manage projects of various sizes. You should be results driven and flexible, enjoy variety in your work, and want to work somewhere where your contributions matter.


A typical work day:

  • Working on Agile or traditional projects;
  • Working with the project team on a day to day basis: analyzing, managing and prioritizing project deliverables;
  • Managing project reporting and resource capacity;
  • Running and facilitating stakeholder meetings, Scrums and demos;
  • Creating, managing and maintaining the project schedule;
  • Managing the project financials, creating project budgets, which may include Software/Hardware procurement;
  • Managing and identifying project risks and performing correspondent risk mitigation;
  • Facilitating project and external groups, such as Vendors, Data Governance or Audit;
  • Responsible for managing a broad teams and projects with complex scopes.
